JOHN SUNMAN'S WOODS

A gift from David S. Dreyer, John Sunman's Woods is located in Ripley County, about six miles east of Batesville, IN. These 33 wooded acres have exceptional diversity, thanks in part to the rolling ridge and gully terrain. Among the larger trees are red and white oak, cherry, beech, shagbark hickory, sugar maple, tulip poplar, and sassafrass. The understory is a rich mixture of native shrubs, ferns and wildflowers.
