Central Indiana Land Trust's second largest property is Burr Oak Bend, a 130-acre site that is a floodplain in a bend of the White River in Hamilton County.
The Land Trust acquired the first phase of Burr Oak Bend in August 2002. This 52-acre parcel was the first land acquisition to close as a result of the White
River/Guide Settlement following the fish kill of December 1999. It has been restored from an
agricultural field to 31.5 acres of mixed hardwood forest and 12.5 acres of prairie.
