Saturday January 28, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm - Winter Walk through Burnett Woods in Avon

Winter outings bring all kinds of fun things to discover. Join Land Trust staff as we lead participants through the woods to explore the winter wildlife and inhabitants of this nature preserve. The outing will conclude with a hot cocoa and coffee gathering at the Light & Life Church next door to the Preserve. Bundle up and join us for a great day!  Reserve your spot today!

Saturday February 25, 2012 from 9am to 1pm - Volunteer Work Day at Oliver's Woods Nature Preserve

Join us at Oliver’s Woods Nature Preserve on the Northside of Indianapolis for a morning of invasive honeysuckle removal. This work is vital to the improvement and overall restoration of this preserve along the White River. This event is not appropriate for young children.

Saturday March 10, 2012 from 9am to 1pm - Volunteer Work Day at Burnett Woods Nature Preserve in Avon

On this day volunteers will work to control the invasive honeysuckle plant present on the preserve. Burnett Woods is 80-acres, and is the only state-dedicated nature
preserve in Hendricks County. This event is not appropriate for young children.

Thursday March 15, 2012 from 9am to 1pm - Volunteer Work Day at Meltzer Woods in Shelbyville

Come out for a fun day of volunteer restoration at the Meltzer Woods in Shelbyville.  Volunteers will work to control invasive wintercreeper plant from this old growth forest. This event is not appropriate for young children.

Saturday March 31, 2012 from 9am to 1pm - Volunteer Work Day at Shalom Woods in Morgan County

Help remove invasive species at this beautiful forest in Morgan County. This is a unique opportunity to see the new addition to this preserve and help improve the health of this forest.This event is not appropriate for young children.

Sunday April 15, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm - Guided Hike of Browning Family Marsh Nature Preserve

Join the Land Trust and the Amos W. Butler Audubon Society for this guided tour of this special property in Zionsville. This site harbors more state rare and endangered species than any other similarly-sized property in Central Indiana.  Leaders will take you through this site as you look for these species and other inhabitants of this special Natural Preserve.  Space is limited.

Tuesday April 17, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm - Volunteer Work Day at Meltzer Woods in Shelbyville

Come out for a fun day of volunteer restoration at the Meltzer Woods in Shelbyville.  Volunteers will work to control invasive garlic mustard from this old growth forest. Join us for this unique opportunity to see this beautiful property that isn't open to the public. This event is family friendly and is appropriate for most ages.

Sunday May 6, 2012 from 2pm to 4pm - Spring Wildflower and Bird Hike at Burnett Woods Nature Preserve


Join the Amos Butler Audubon Society and the Central Indiana Land Trust as we explore Burnett Woods Nature Preserve near Avon.  Hike guides will lead participants through the preserve and will identify wildflowers, other plants, and birds along the trails of this 80-acre flatwood preserve. Registration is required for this hike.  This is hike open to members of AWBAS and Central Indiana Land Trust only.  To register, please email your name and the number of people in your party to Stacy at info@conservingindiana.org or call (317) 631-5263.
